On March 8, 2018 at approximately 11:10 a.m., the Guelph Fire Department and Guelph police were called to a Carden Street address where there were reports of a possible fire. Initial reports received stated that there was a heavy smell of gas and smoke. As a precaution, people were evacuated out of some buildings along Carden Street.
Investigation revealed that there was a minor gas fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and confirmed there were no other issues.
