WELLINGTON COUNTY – All charges against an OPP officer who recently died have been dropped by the Crown.

Mike Dolderman, a 21-year veteran police officer with the Wellington County detachment, had been charged with five counts of sexual assault and five counts of breach of trust in April 2020.

The case never made it to trial as Dolderman died on Nov. 17 from an aggressive cancer according to his obituary.

A trial date had been set and Dolderman maintained his innocence.

In a Guelph courtroom on Tuesday, the Crown asked for all charges against him to be withdrawn.

Prosecutors withdraw charges when there is not a reasonable prospect of conviction or it is not in the public interest to pursue conviction.
