Charges laid against pedestrian in case of parking lot rage

A Guelph man, 54, faces criminal charges following a dispute with a driver in a parking lot early Friday.

Police report that approximately 8:30 a.m. a vehicle entered a parking lot on Speedvale Avenue West, driving close to a man walking through the parking lot. The motorist parked near his workplace but the pedestrian approached the vehicle and began yelling.

The pedestrian punched and kicked the vehicle, breaking the side mirror, while yelling at the driver and uttering death threats. Officers arrived a short time later and arrested him.

The pedestrian is charged with mischief under $5,000 and uttering death threats.
