Child found wet and cold

Initial reports indicate a small child was underdressed and alone in the rain

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH - On Sunday morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a public assistance event on Fergus Street South, Mount Forest. Initial reports indicate a small child was underdressed and alone in the rain.

OPP and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Service attended and located the child. He was unharmed, however, he was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. The child's guardians were located and brought to the hospital.

Family and Children's Services were notified and continue to investigate how the child managed to exit the family home on his own.

The OPP would like to thank those who continue to ensure that Wellington County remains one of the safest communities in Canada.
