Collision leads to impaired charge

Two drivers were in the process of exchanging information when Police noticed that one of the drivers appeared to be impaired by alcohol

On Aug. 15, 2020, at approximately 10:34 p.m., the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit were on general patrol when they came across a minor rear end collision at York Road and Victoria Road South in the City of Guelph.  The two drivers were in the process of exchanging information when Police noticed that one of the drivers appeared to be impaired by alcohol.  The accused was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and transported to the Guelph Police Station.  

A 54 year old male from Mooretown, Ontario has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration and Careless Driving.  The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on November 27, 2020.
