One of city council’s two voices on the Guelph Police Services Board has changed.
Joining Mayor Cam Guthrie on the board is Coun. Phil Allt, whom council appointed to the role earlier this month. His first meeting of the four-year term was held Thursday morning.
Allt represents Ward 3 residents on city council; he was first elected councillor in 2014 and twice re-elected.
During last term, Coun. Christine Billings represented council on the police board, along with Guthrie, but she didn’t put her name forward this time around. She’d been on the board since 2016.
The board consists of five people – two city council representatives and two provincial government appointees, as well as a community representative appointed by city council.
