A Guelph couple face more than a dozen criminal charges following a series of bicycle thefts on the University of Guelph campus.

Between mid-September and the beginning of November, seven bicycles were stolen. In each case the bicycles were locked and were stolen after the locks were cut off. The incidents were captured on surveillance video.

Investigation by the Campus Safety Office in conjunction with Guelph police led to the identification of the suspects. They were located Tuesday at an address in Downtown Guelph and arrested.

A 38-year-old Guelph male is charged with eight counts each of theft under $5,000 and possessing break-in instruments. A 35-year-old female is charged with three counts each of theft under $5,000 and possessing break-in instruments. They will both appear in a Guelph court Jan. 6.
