CRIME OF THE WEEK: Wallets stolen from six distracted victims

On Saturday February 10th 2024, several distraction thefts occurred at various retail outlets in the City of Guelph.

A male and female worked together to distract the victim in order to steal the victim’s wallet from their purse.

In all six thefts, the victim’s debit or credit card was used at other nearby businesses shortly thereafter.

The male suspect is described as being heavy set, in his 40’s, having olive skin, a beard which was dark around the sides and white around his mouth and chin, wearing a black toque, a dark winter jacket, grey track pants and black shoes.

The female suspect is described as between 35-45 year of age, possibly Middle Eastern, wearing a tan jacket, grey winter hat with a large pompom, grey pants, and a black purse.

The vehicle they were driving is described as a grey Mazda hatchback.
