Customer's car taken from inside business, suspect later arrested

Police say surveillance photos led to an arrest nearby

A Guelph male faces several charges after a business was entered and a car stolen from the premises Friday morning.

A business in the area of Edinburgh Road North and Paisley Street was entered just before 4:30 a.m. on Friday after a window was broken. A car belonging to a customer of the business was missing.

Officers were able to identify a suspect from surveillance photos. He was located at an address on Willow Road and arrested. The vehicle was recovered.

A 30-year-old Guelph male is charged with break and enter, possessing stolen property over $5,000, possessing stolen property under $5,000, theft and three counts of breaching probation. He will appear in a Guelph court Jan. 7.
