Cyclist charged in collision

On Nov. 8, 2017 at approximately 6 p.m., a 21-year-old male was driving a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup truck southbound on Gordon Street. As he turned left to eastbound College Avenue, he struck a 20-year-old male who was riding a bicycle northbound across College Avenue within the crosswalk. The male was ejected from the bicycle, coming to rest on the roadway.

The pickup truck driver was not injured in the collision.

The cyclist was transported to Guelph General Hospital for treatment of a minor arm and head injury. He has been charged with cyclist - ride within a crosswalk.
