Driver arrested after pedestrian struck

Shortly after 6 p.m. on March 21, police were called to the intersection of Woodlawn Road and Edinburgh Road after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

Police arrived to investigate and learned that a 2008 Subaru station wagon travelling eastbound on Woodlawn had gone through the red light there and struck a 65-year-old female who was crossing the street southbound.

She suffered an injury to her leg and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment.

The investigation also lead to the arrest of 37-year-old Steven Bisson, of Chelmsford, who was charged with operation of a motor vehicle over 80 mgs, failing to stop at a red light and operating his vehicle without insurance.

He was later released to appear in court on April 4, 2017.

Cyclist struck

At approximately 2:55 p.m., police responded to another incident where a 62-year-old man was operating an e-bike westbound on Willow Road.

He was struck by a Jeep that was turning off of Applewood Crescent.  The e-bike rider did not receive any injuries that required medical attention and the 34-year-old driver of Jeep was charged [with] disobeying a stop sign.
