On Jan. 12, 2018 a Wellington County Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 6, South of Stone Road. While there, the fully marked police vehicle had all emergency lights on and they were functioning.

A northbound motor vehicle approached the police cruiser and failed to move to the other lane to avoid police. The officer returned to his cruiser and proceeded to stop the motor vehicle.

While speaking with the female driver, the officer detected signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside screening device was administered which resulted in a warn.

A 32-year-old was issued a three-day drivers licence suspension and charged with fail to move over contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court to answer to the charge.
