Driver charged in transport rollover investigation

Police say the driver lost control and the tractor-trailer rolled over, striking a hydro pole

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH - On Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 at approximately 9:48 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle rollover at the intersection of Wellington Road 109 and Wellington Road 12 in Wellington North Township involving a loaded tractor-trailer.

Investigation revealed that the transport truck driver attempted to turn left onto Wellington Road 12 from Wellington Road 109 at which time the driver lost control and the tractor-trailer rolled over and struck a hydro pole. The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Twenty-year-old Steven Sorozn of Mulmur Township has been charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Offences Court on Sept. 18, 2018.
