Driver charged with impaired during Puslinch RIDE check

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Nov. 12, 2020 at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Gore Road at Townline Road in Puslinch Township.

Police spoke with a driver of a vehicle that entered the RIDE program. An odour of alcohol was detected on their breath. A roadside screening device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Tyler Black, 33 years old of Brantford, has been charged with impaired operation - 80 plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Dec. 8, 2020 to answer to the charge.
