Fake gun pulled in crowded Downtown Guelph bar

A Guelph man faces several weapons charges after pointing a replica firearm inside a crowded bar.

Just after midnight Friday morning, police were dispatched to a weapons call at a bar downtown. Investigation revealed a man had been ejected from the bar after becoming involved in an altercation inside.

While the man was being removed, another patron commented that he had a firearm and had pointed it at them. A security guard quickly disarmed and restrained the male until police arrived. A BB gun and ammunition were recovered.

A 20-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and careless use of a firearm.
