Female turns herself in seven months after drugs seized

A Guelph female was arrested Thursday, nearly seven months after police seized drugs and weapons during a traffic stop.

Approximately 12:15 a.m. March 20, 2021, Guelph police officers on patrol located a car stopped in a parking lot on Woolwich Street near Speedvale Avenue West. Two males and a female who were standing near the car left the area and were seen going into a nearby apartment building.

Officers could see a cup containing suspected cocaine inside the vehicle as well as an open purse containing suspected drug packaging. The car was seized and a warrant was obtained to search it at a later date.

In total, within the motor vehicle, Guelph police located:
• 41.72 grams of suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of $4,000
• 10.84 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $880
• 15 tablets of suspected Oxycodone with an approximate street value of $150
• three conducted energy weapons
• a Desert Eagle 0.177 calibre 4.5 mm pellet gun
• a functioning digital scale with suspected drug residue
• four cellular devices
• drug packaging

Two Guelph male were earlier arrested on various charges. On Thursday a 41-year-old Guelph female turned herself in to police. She is charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited weapon and three counts of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking. She will appear in a Guelph court Jan. 11.
