On Feb. 1, 2020 at 7:52 p.m., an adult male set off a firework in the hallway of an apartment building located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. Due to the smoke from the firework, the building fire alarm system was automatically set off. The Guelph Fire Department attended the scene, cleared the smoke from the hallway and reset the fire alarm system.
On Feb. 2, 2020 at 10:30 p.m., police located the male in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. He was subsequently arrested.
A 41-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
• Mischief under $5,000
• Breach probation
He will appear in court on March 10, 2020.
