Firefighters extinguish Water Street house fire

On Wednesday Oct. 3, 2018 at approximately 5:42 a.m., Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 279 Water St.

Arriving on scene, firefighters found smoke coming from the eaves of the house. A quick interior attack found flames on the first floor, crews made a fast attack and knocked down the fire.

The fire was quickly brought under control and subsequently extinguished.

There were no injuries to Firefighting personnel.

The cause of the fire, along with a damage estimate, is under investigation by Guelph Fire investigators and the Guelph Police Service.

Thank you to the other agencies assisting on scene which include the Guelph Police Service and Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services.
