Police responded to five commercial break-ins on Sunday morning, all of which are “believed to be related,” states a police news release.

Officers were called to a Woolwich Street business, near Marilyn Drive, at about 6 a.m. and discovered a front glass door had been smashed and a small amount of cash taken.

The glass door of a Wellington Street West business was reported broken a short time later, with a cash register containing a small amount of cash taken.

Video surveillance shows a suspect entering the premises at about 5:20 a.m.

Three more break-ins were later reported at businesses on Elmira Road North, Speedvale Avenue East and Woodlawn Road West. In each case a glass front door was smashed to gain entry.

The suspect is described as a white female with a tall, thin build and blonde hair. At the time she was wearing a black and white or grey patterned sweater, black leggings, a baseball cap, gloves and a face mask.

She is believed to have arrived in a grey Mitsubishi sedan.

Anyone with more information about the break-ins is asked to call Const. Carson Skipper at 519-824-1212, ext. 7283 or email [email protected]. Details can also be left anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.csgw.tips.
