Four people face racing charges in separate Wellington County area incidents

One also stands accused of having cannabis readily available

Minto woman facing racing charges

TOWNSHIP OF MINTO, ON - On Friday December 14, 2018, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 89, west of Mount Forest. The officer observed a female driving a blue sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at over 135 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 55 km/h. The driver could not provide proof of vehicle insurance.

21-year-old Anna Genevieve Vaillancourt of Minto twp. has been charged with racing a motor vehicle and driving without insurance. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Jan. 16, 2019. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Brampton man facing racing and cannabis charges 

CITY OF GUELPH, ON - On Sunday Dec. 9, 2018, at approximately 1 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a silver sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at over 135 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by 55 km/h. The driver was also found to have cannabis readily available.

22-year-old Adrian Tyler Tre Young of Brampton has been charged with racing a motor vehicle and driving with cannabis readily available. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on Jan. 16, 2019. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Guelph man facing racing charges 

CITY OF GUELPH, ON - On Wednesday Dec. 5, 2018, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a black pickup at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at over 130 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by 50 km/h. The driver could not provide proof of vehicle insurance.

36-year-old Douglas Alexander Machrie of Guelph has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle and Driving without Insurance. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Jan. 16, 2019. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

Kitchener woman facing racing charges 

TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON - On Tuesday Dec. 4, 2018, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, south of Rothsay. The officer observed a female driving a black sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 130 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by 50 km/h.

22-year-old Hannah Mercedes McCusker of Kitchener has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Jan. 16, 2019. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
