Guelph Police Service cruisers are blocking traffic after a Saturday afternoon collision involving four vehicles has left a traffic light dangling over part of the intersection.

The collision occurred about 3:15 p.m. on Wellington Street West at Edinburgh Road South, said police officers on the scene.

Vehicles involved in the collision were cleared from the scene before 5 p.m., but officers remain on scene to block traffic from accessing the ramp from Edinburgh Road turning west on to Wellington Street.

Police at the scene said they expected the ramp to be closed for a few hours until city crews can repair the traffic lights.

An officer at the Guelph Police station said emergency crews were dispatched to the collision but no information was immediately available as to possible injuries.

GuelphToday will have more information on this incident as it becomes available.
