Theft, wanted man, calls for service

On March 12, 2018, while on routine patrol, Guelph police officers came across a vehicle that had improper plates on it. An investigation was initiated into how the licence plates ended up on the particular vehicle.

On March 15, 2018, police learned that the licence plates in question were allegedly stolen.

On March 22, 2018 the suspect from the March 12 interaction was located and arrested. The suspect was allegedly found to be in possession of two other stolen licence plates.

As a result of this investigation, a 22-year-old Guelph man is charged with three counts of possession of stolen property and one count of breaching his probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.

On March 23, 2018, at approximately 5:30 a.m., while on routine patrol, Guelph police located a male in the east end of the city that was wanted. The male was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant relevant to the charges of mischief under $5000 and uttering a threat.

Subsequent to the arrest, the male is alleged to be in possession of a controlled substance and was further charged with that offence. The 38 year old Guelph male was held for a bail hearing.

In the last 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service have dealt with 221 calls for service.
