A would-be thief was able to defeat padlocks but got foiled by cold weather early Tuesday.
Police were called to a business on Dawson Road for an attempted theft. Video surveillance showed a man arriving at the business in a truck approximately 12:30 a.m. He used a grinder to cut the locks off a utility trailer, but was unable to access the trailer as it was frozen shut.
He is described as a white man wearing a black jacket with red on the shoulders and was driving a U-Haul truck.
