Guelph, Ont., On Feb. 25, 2018, at approximately 16:59 hrs, the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported fire at 114 Forest Street.
Arriving at the scene, firefighters found a single vehicle detached garage filled with smoke.
The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished.
Fire crews ventilated the structure and checked to ensure the fire had not reached the attic area. The garage sustained smoke and heat damage inside, but no estimate is available at this time.
There were no injuries to the residents or firefighters.
The cause of fire is believed to be hot embers removed from a woodstove coming in contact with combustible materials.
