Girl, 14, charged with assault in Guelph high school

A Guelph teenager has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm after another girl sustained a concussion during an assault earlier this month inside a city high school.

The high school was not identified by Guelph police.

On Dec. 7, police received a call from a parent indicating his daughter had been assaulted at school that morning. Investigation revealed the victim was in the hallway of a local high school when she was approached by another female. She was slapped, pushed against a wall and punched several times.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of a concussion and various bumps and bruises.

On Tuesday a 14-year-old Guelph teen was arrested for assault causing bodily harm. She will appear in a Guelph court Feb. 1.
