Guelph driver facing impaired charge after stop in Fergus

On May 12, 2021, at approximately 10:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver. Police located and stopped the vehicle on Tower Street South at McQueen Boulevard in Fergus.

As a result, Stephanie Bernice Wheeler, 39 years old, of Guelph has been charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code. 

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on June 18, 2021.
