Guelph male faces charges after bank ATM was destroyed

A Guelph male is facing charges after an ATM at a Guelph bank was destroyed Friday night.

Just before 10 p.m. police received reports of a male damaging a machine at a bank in the area of Victoria Road North and Grange Road. Officers arrived within minutes and observed the male still inside.

The ATM had been extensively damaged after being struck with a skateboard. Damage is estimated in excess of $5,000.

A 44-year-old Guelph male is charged with mischief over $5,000 and three counts of breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in a Guelph court March 22.
