A Guelph man is facing multiple charges in connection with a large child sexual exploitation sting in Quebec.

OPP said a 30-year-old Guelph man was arrested and charged with one count each of making available child pornography, possessing child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Sûreté du Quebec, the provincial police force for Quebec, said a large-scale operation was carried out by officers, in collaboration with police forces across Quebec. The arrests were made between Nov. 27 and 30.

"At the same time, operations related to child pornography also took place in New Brunswick and Ontario, with the involvement of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), via its provincial strategy on the sexual exploitation of children on Internet, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), among others via the National Center against Child Exploitation," police said in a news release.

Ontario Provincial Police said 18 men from Ontario are among the 29 arrests made.

It added numerous searches at homes of the suspects were done, and computer equipment was seized for further investigation.

The name of the Guelph man was not released.
