Guelph man arrested in connection with multiple car thefts

Between March 10 and March 16 members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Central Division Community Oriented Response Enforcement (CORE) Team, with assistance from Central Patrol, recovered five stolen vehicles, which had been stolen throughout the Region of Waterloo and Guelph.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Kitchener male is facing charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a controlled drug substance. A 33-year-old Guelph male is facing charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000, breach of probation, flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after attempting to strike a police officer in efforts to evade police.

During the search, police seized an imitation handgun and suspected stolen property from within the vehicles.  The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
