Guelph man arrested in cross-border child luring investigation

A Guelph man has been arrested in connection with an internet luring investigation that involved police in Minnesota.

Guelph police report that on June 29 members of the Guelph Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit entered into an investigation with the Owatonna Police Department located in Minnesota.

On Tuesday, an adult male engaged in a conversation with an individual who he believed to be a 15-year-old female.

During the conversation the Guelph man allegedly sent explicit images of himself to the person, who was actually an undercover police officer. The male was subsequently arrested in the north end of Guelph.

A 29-year-old Guelph male has been charged with luring and making sexual explicit material available to a child.

He will appear in court on Nov. 5.
