Guelph man charged with kicking police officer

A Guelph man faces several charges after a police officer was kicked in the leg Friday night.

Officers were called just before 10:30 p.m. for an intoxicated male at a business near Imperial Road North and Woodlawn Road West. The man refused to identify himself and was arrested for public intoxication.

While being transported to the cruiser the male began to struggle with officers, kicking one in the shin. The officer was not seriously injured.

A 46-year-old Guelph man is charged with obstructing police, assault to resist arrest, public intoxication and breaching a release order.
