A Guelph man faces several charges after a woman was struck in the face with a bowling ball Sunday afternoon, Guelph police report.
Just before 3 p.m., several 911 calls were received about a disturbance near Paisley Street and Dublin Street North. Witnesses reported a female outside screaming with blood on her face.
Officers located the female, who reported being assaulted by a man known to her. Investigation revealed she was hit in the face with a bowling ball. The man was located a short distance away and arrested. He was found to be on conditions not to have contact with the victim.
A 29-year-old man faces charges including assault with a weapon, several counts of breaching probation and release orders and failing to attend court. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
