For the second time in the past six weeks, Guelph police are warning of scams involving the sale of Taylor Swift tickets.
"Our fraud unit continues to receive reports of people being scammed by those purportedly selling Taylor Swift concert tickets," Guelph police posted on X. "Do your research, use common sense and don’t allow yourself to be bullied into sending money."
In early October, Guelph police reported they had received several calls about online buy and sell transactions through social media and online sales sites.
Swift's Eras Tour comes to Toronto in November of 2024.
Police say scammers often create multiple fake social media profiles – either with stolen identity information and pictures or fabricated entirely – as a way to mask their true identity. They then post the fake or nonexistent concert tickets for sale online.
