Guelph Transit driver charged after minor collision with cyclist

Cyclist was uninjured in Thursday evening incident; bus driver charged under Highway Traffic Act

A Guelph Transit bus sits at the side of the road after a cyclist was struck early Thursday evening on Gordon Street.

A Guelph cyclist escaped serious injury in a minor collision with a Guelph Transit bus Thursday.

Just after 5 p.m., police were called to Gordon Street just south of Waterloo Avenue for a collision between a cyclist and a Guelph Transit bus.

The cyclist, a 67-year-old Guelph man, sustained very minor injuries and declined medical attention, police report.

The male bus driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with making an unsafe move.
