Guelph woman faces 42 fraud-related charges in Waterloo

WATERLOO – A Guelph woman faces 42 counts of fraud-related charges after being arrested following an incident at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo Wednesday, says the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

Police attended a business within Conestoga Mall in response to a person attempting to obtain credit fraudulently.

They located the suspect who attempted to flee on foot but was caught and arrested.

Several fraudulent identity documents were located in the suspect’s possession in the names of several victims. During the arrest, several pieces of property which was allegedly fraudulently obtained were recovered by police.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old woman from Guelph has been charged with 42 counts of fraud-related charges.

She is scheduled to appear in court in April 2024.
