On Saturday Dec. 9, 2017 at approximately 4:30 a.m. members of the Guelph Police Service attended to a residence on Downey Road for a report of a male who had broken into a residence and assaulted the victim.
The suspect was known to the victim and had fled on foot prior to police arrival. Police Service Dog General attended to the residence, tracked the suspect and located him hiding in a stream under an overpass on Downey Road.
A 27-year-old Kitchener man was charged with break and enter, unlawfully in a dwelling house, robbery, assault mischief under $5000, overcoming resistance in commission of an offence and three counts of breach of recognizance.
He was held in custody pending a court date on Dec. 11, 2017.
