Hamilton man arrested in connection with serious Guelph assault

A Hamilton male faces several charges connected to a serious assault in Guelph late last month, Guelph police report.

Shortly after noon September 29, the Guelph Police Service was called to a commercial address in the area of Massey Road and Lewis Road. Upon arrival police located a male who had sustained serious injuries as a result of an interaction with another male who had fled the scene.

The victim remained in hospital for several days and continues to recover from his injuries.

As a result of the ongoing investigation a 35-year-old Hamilton male was arrested this week and charged with aggravated assault, extortion, uttering threats to cause death and uttering threats to damage property. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
