Homeowners assaulted after invasion of legal cannabis grow-op: OPP

TOWN OF ERIN - On Oct. 31, 2019 at approximately 10:55 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a home invasion and robbery at an address in the Town of Erin.

It was determined that three unknown suspects, one armed with a handgun, entered a residence through an unlocked rear door and demanded marihuana from the homeowners. A brief scuffle ensued, one of the victims was assaulted and received minor injuries.

The suspects are described as:

  1. Male, black, wearing a black puffy jacket and carrying a backpack.
  2. Male, black, heavy set, approximately 21-24-years-old, clean shaven, approximately 6ft tall.
  3. Male, black, light complexion, approximately 5'6 wearing a dark coloured mask partially covering lower half of his face.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark-coloured car with loud exhaust and was last seen travelling eastbound.  

Wellington County OPP Major Crime Unit in conjunction with OPP Forensic Identification Unit and Wellington County OPP members are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call 1-888-310-1122.
