A Cambridge man faces impaired driving charges after he was found passed out behind the wheel early Tuesday morning, report Guelph police.

Just before 1 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Niska Road and Ptarmigan Drive where they found a man passed out in a running vehicle at a stop sign.

Officers woke the male and could detect a strong odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath. He was arrested and transported to the police station, where testing indicated he had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

A 20-year-old Cambridge man is charged with impaired operation.
