A Guelph woman faces several charges following a hit-and-run collision Saturday.

Approximately 2:30 p.m., police were called to the area of Edinburgh Road South and Honey Crescent. A vehicle had entered the intersection and struck a second vehicle before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported.

The damaged vehicle was located a short distance away. As officers spoke to the owner they noted a strong odour of alcoholic beverage on her breath. She was transported to the police station where testing confirmed she had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

The woman repeatedly identified herself using her sister’s name, however was properly identified via police records.

A 39-year-old Guelph woman is charged with impaired driving, failing to remain at a collision, obstructing police and driving while suspended. Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
