A Burlington man was charged with impaired driving after rolling his vehicle in Guelph early Sunday morning, Guelph police report.

Approximately 2:45 a.m. police were called to the intersection of Victoria Road South and College Avenue East. Investigation revealed a pickup truck which had been eastbound on College Avenue drove straight through the T-intersection, collided with a guardrail and rolled onto its roof.

The driver was treated on scene by paramedics and did not sustain any serious injuries. Police noted signs of impairment and he was arrested and taken to the police station, where testing confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

A 19-year-old Burlington man is charged with impaired driving. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He will appear in a Guelph court January 6, 2023.

The man was one of three arrested for impaired driving in Guelph this weekend.

A 40-year-old Toronto woman was arrested following a traffic stop right outside the Guelph police station at 11:17 p.m. Friday. A 53-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested for refusing to provide a breath sample after he was observed trying to avoid a RIDE spot check downtown just before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Both motorists had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
