A Guelph man was charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Just after 8:30 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Silvercreek Parkway North after it was seen leaving a licensed establishment. The driver had an odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath and registered a fail on a roadside device. He was arrested and transported to the police station, where further testing confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

A 60 year old man is charged with impaired driving. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
