A Guelph male was arrested Friday following an alleged road rage incident a week earlier.

Approximately 10:40 p.m. Dec. 17, police were called to a commercial plaza at Speedvale Avenue East and Stevenson Street North. A male advised he was followed into the plaza by an unknown male who was angry about his driving. The unknown male dumped a bottle of water into the victim’s car and struck him in the face, breaking the victim’s glasses.

The victim was able to capture some of the incident on video with his cellphone and provided the video to officers. The suspect was observed to be wearing a shirt with the logo of a local business, and on Friday officers attended the business and located the male.

A 24-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault. He will appear in a Guelph court Feb. 18.
