Male charged with impaired

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On May 23, 2018 at approximately 10 p.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the driver of a sedan on Tower Street North near St. Andrew Street West in the Town of Fergus.

While speaking with the male driver the officer believed him to be impaired by alcohol. A roadside test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

30-year-old Kyle Albert Wright of Fergus has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

He was also charged with Drive Motor vehicle with open container of Liquor. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 22, 2018 to answer to the charges.
