A Guelph male who refused to wear a mask while grocery shopping in Guelph Tuesday faces a charge under the Trespass to Property Act.

Approximately 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, Guelph police were called to a business in the area of Woodlawn Road West and Woolwich Street. Staff reported a male refused several requests to put on a mask as required by store policy.

He became agitated and began recording staff.

Officers located the 42-year-old Guelph male inside the store and he continued to refuse to wear a mask. He was removed from the store at the request of staff and charged under the Trespass to Property Act with engaging in a prohibited activity. He was banned from returning to the store for one year.
