Male facing drug related charges following collision

On April 30, 2018 at approximately 8 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 at Wellington Road 32, Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

Police arrived on scene and observed a lone male in the seat of one of the involved vehicles. While speaking with him police detected a very strong fresh odor of marijuana emitting from within the motor vehicle.

The male was arrested for possession of marijuana. A search incident to arrest located a quantity of marijuana.

18-year-old Tyrek Farquharson of Kitchener has been charged with fail to comply with undertaking and possession of marijuana over 30 grams. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 29, 2018 to answer to the charges.
