(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - Today at approximately 8:50 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue responded to a workplace accident at the Grand River Raceway located on Wellington Road 21 in Elora.

A 41-year-old individual was injured while working in a trench when the bank collapsed. The victim was transported by land ambulance to a local hospital and later airlifted by Onge to a trauma hospital with serious injuries.

The Wellington County OPP along with the Ministry of Labour (MOL) continue to investigate.
