On Oct. 25, 2019, Guelph Police were called to a York Road address, where someone’s vehicle had been entered, wallet stolen and credit cards used. As a result of the investigation, on Oct. 28, 2019, a 53 year old Guelph man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of credit card, fraud, breaching his Probation Order and breaching an Order of Recognizance. He was held for bail.

Guelph Police would like to remind everyone that this type of crime can be easily prevented. Make sure your car doors are locked and do not leave anything valuable inside. Furthermore, if you are not using the “tap” function on your credit / debit card, contact your financial institution to see if you can have that function disabled.
