A 31-year-old Guelph man faces several charges after police reportedly spotted him getting into a stolen vehicle on Sunday afternoon.
While investigating another matter on Carden Street shortly before 5 p.m. when they allegedly saw a man getting into a black Mazda which matched the description of a car stolen downtown a day earlier.
Upon investigation, officers learned the Mazda was stolen and arrested the man. A subsequent search revealed a cheque in someone else’s name, police say in a news release.
The accused is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000, possessing stolen property under $5,000, failing to comply with bail and two counts of breach of probation.
