A male faces charges after a downtown business was broken into and ransacked Sunday evening, report police.
Shortly after 7 p.m. the male managed to pick the lock to gain entry to the business. He stole approximately $500 worth of product and caused approximately $2,500 in damage to product inside the business. The male also caused approximately $3,000 damage to an ATM machine inside the business by repeatedly hitting it with a hammer.
Guelph police officers located the male attempting to flee the area and he was arrested.
A 30-year-old male of no fixed address is charged with break and enter, mischief over $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. He will appear in a Guelph court June 11.
